The Dolciano hill is overlooked by an elegant 18th century villa which gives on a splendid Italian garden.
Spread out over the surrounding area there are various other buildings, like old farms and stables, included an attractive little church beside the villa.
The area was once the site of Etruscan dwelling as testified by the numerous remains of settlements in the nearby area. Borgo Dolciano is situated in a particularly favorable position because it is easily accessible and surrounded by natural and artistic beauty. The complex is located just a few kilometers from the Chiusi exit of the A1 [Autostrada del Sole],
right in the center of an area rich in natural and artistic splendor of both region Tuscany and Umbria. In the immediate vicinity there are the little towns of Chiusi and Chianciano of clear Etruscan origin. Chiusi was the capital of the Kingdom of the great king Porsenna. Spread all over the area there are well preserved tombs. Paying your entrance ticket we invite you to discover the ancient world of Italian history by visiting the Chiusi museum (which offers you also a guided tour in the Etruscan tombs). Nearly there are three picturesque Lakes: the smaller of Chiusi and Montepulciano and the famous Trasimeno.
